on what to consider before submitting a story to Pendulum Comics:
provide a brief synopsis of your story including the end and any
twists or plot changes. Along with this send us a part of the
actual text from your story (as you would see it appear in the
comic). Make it a section that you think encapsulates the essence
of the story. For example: Choose a part that will hook in the
reader, a pivotal point in the plot, try to engage us with just
one paragraph! Remember the best books need to have you hooked
by the end of the first chapter, comics are shorter than books,
therefore they need to grip you in the first few pages. Think
about this when you're writing stories for submission.
you would like to submit a story for one of our comics, Shroud
for example, please bare in mind the type of comic it is. All
comics have their own unique atmosphere and feel, your story has
to fit into that. This doesn't mean we want carbon copies of previous
stories just be aware of the universe that your story takes place
in. For example don't submit a story for Shroud about a happy-go-lucky
kid that hangs out in the summer and likes football, unless it
has a macabre undertone or a sinister angle to it!
importantly we want you to be as creative as you can be, the more
unusual stories the better. Don't be afraid to be different!
